Lake Drive and Mercedes Drive, with work expected through fall 2026. This repair work is distinct from the long-term replacement project.

“Bridge Replacement Project: Community vs. Concrete”
From HBAA feature by Tim Stocksdale in the Harbor Beach Association's official magazine (February 2026 issue, pages 16–22), with photographs, some captioned “Current Design.” It explains the neighborhood's concerns about the design then being proposed and how residents can get involved. It presents the residents' perspective, not the City's.

Since publication the City has reported the design as 60% complete with construction planned for fall 2027 – summer 2030, the February 19, 2026 meeting it announces has passed, and some officials' titles and contact details listed at the end of the article have changed. President's Message: “Bridges Over Troubled Waters”
From HBAAn update from HBA President Mike Byrne in the Harbor Beach Association's magazine (April 2026 issue, pages 6 and 8) on the Association's discussions with the City about the proposed bridge design, with before-and-after images. It expresses the Association's views and its reading of the plans the City had shared at that point; the “After” images are the Association's illustrations of the proposed design, not City renderings.

Federal Bridge Inspection Records
Year-by-year inspection records for the four West Lake Drive bridges, as published by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) through its InfoBridge portal, which draws on the National Bridge Inventory. Each bridge has a 2023 summary report plus historical tables of condition ratings, structural evaluation appraisals, load ratings and daily traffic.
Condition ratings run from 9 (excellent) to 0 (failed); each summary report spells out the meaning of every code. These files were retrieved from InfoBridge in April 2026 — the live InfoBridge pages may show newer data.
